Large vintage book bag or briefcase with shoulder strap in excellent vintage condition. Very dark brown leather with lots of gloss and great patina--also w/ the reddish highlights that chocolate has! Fastens in front with twist closures on flap. Two deep pockets on front, under flap. Full slip pocket on the back of the bag. Inside, a separately applied hanging pocket has a one large pocket with zipper, one card-sized pocket, and two pen or pencil loops. Well padded handle on top has a 3" drop. Shoulder strap fastens with brass hooks, has a serious shoulder guard, is adjustible with a brass buckle, and has a maximum 20" drop. This vintage bookbag has no maker's label. It may have been hand made. It is beautifully constructed of very high-end leather. It has been carried, and it will probably outlast you. You can will it to your granddaughter. 16 1/2" wide by 10" high by 3" deep. Excellent vintage condition Nicely broken in.
