Marked Alligator Bag-Eames Era Hardware

If I were getting a vintage bag as a present, this is the one I would want. A dark red-brown ("redwood" in the Wikipedia color chart) real alligator bag by Koret. Clearly marked, "Koret" and "Made of Alligator." Lined with black kid leather, the bag has two large pockets, containing the original mirror (in a matching black leather cover) and the original comb. Attached by a cord is the large black leather coin purse, marked with the Koret logo and closing with a tiny metal zipper. The bag has four tiny brass feet.

This vintage alligator bag's hardware is especially nice: the bright, clean brass frame is 3/8" wide and rolled, so that it looks plump. The round finial for the snap closure is 1 1/4" in diameter. The handle is all alligator, with piping in the seams and with excellent padding. The handle is double, and the drop ia 5". All of the alligator is in astonishingly good condition, with no raised scales, no splitting, no tears, etc. Tiny matching piping at the seams. The bag measures 8 1/2" wide by 4" high by 4" deep. It is in near-mint condition, with absolutely no problems. Carry it tomorrow.
