This image--of the parade of Chinamen--looks like a batik,
although that is unlikely, I'm sure. However they were produced,
the Chinamen are gorgeous, and they are on both the front and
the back of the bag. Fabric is canvas weight, and lined with
off-white cotton. Bamboo poles for the frame. Double cording
handles with a 5" drop. Frog and bamboo button closure. Bag
measures 13" wide at the base, by 9" high, by 5" deep with
wide side gussets. Bag is in mint condition.

10" wide by 11" high--sort of a squared circle basket, with
bark cloth used for the sides. Small brass tacks hold the
basket together and hold the fabric to the basket. Nicely
tapered handle. 4 1/4" deep. Excellent vintage condition.

Somewhat larger than the typical tooled leather "hippie bag,"
this leather bag is unusual in its rare shade of yellow-gold,
and in its detachible shoulder strap. I've never seen a
convertible hippie bag before! Tooled flower pattern on the
front. Seams done with leather running stitch. Top handle has
a 2" drop. Shoulder strap has a 20" drop and can be easily tied,
if you like. It measures 11" wide by 7 1/2" high by 3" deep.
Self-lined with the leather's own suede. Extremely heavy leather
in a with a splendid patina. Excellent vintage condition.

Late 1940s or early 1950s wicker bag, made of rattan rods
wrapped and woven with wicker strips. Ox blood leather trim,
including a handle with a 8" drop and lots of rivets.
Leather flap and twist closure, plus leather hinge at back,
also with lots of rivets. Bag sits on a 1/4" ridge at the base,
instead of brass feet. Lined with off-white linen. 7" wide
at the base, 8 1/2" wide at the top, by 5 1/2" high, by 5"
deep at the top. Bag is in nearly mint condition. As you can
see from the image, some very slight smudges inside.

Whenever we have one of these reversible bags, I always wonder
how anyone could have done this incredible work on a handbag and
still made a profit! These bags were usually made in Mexico, and
I assume this one was, although I can't find a mark. Essentially,
the bag has TWO full fronts and TWO full backs, both completely
and delicately tooled. Both bags include fitted wallets, tooled
glove holders, plus pockets with flap and snap closures. The
interior is competely lined in soft leather, with a central
divider and a metal zippered pocket, plus another pocket with met
zipper, amd more. The completely removable shoulder strap has a
10" drop or an 18" drop. Bag measures 10 1/2" wide by 6 1/2" hig
by 3" deep. Nearly mint condition. No problems. All lacing is
strong. Interior is spotless.
